While the cold winter air might make Spring seem far away, if you plan on selling your home this spring or summer, now’s the time to get it ready to go on the market. Warm weather and long summer vacations tend to make home sales skyrocket. However, this even more reason to make your home look extra-special, as there will be increased competition to sell.
A smart move would be to hire a professional home inspector to ensure that all of your home’s major structural components—drainage, decks, chimney, roof, windows, doors, plumbing, electrical, etc.—are in working order. It’s highly likely that a potential buyer will hire an inspector to examine the house, so you might as well save yourself any surprises down the road.
After the inspection, two things that you can do that are easy and relatively inexpensive are to clean your carpets and/or paint any walls that are looking dingy. Also, do your best to remove your home’s clutter—neat and tidy rooms not only look better, but bigger, too!
