Spring will arrive in Anne Arundel County any time now, so if you’re planning on selling your home, be sure to seize this opportunity to inject some pizzazz into your garden!
As any Realtor will tell you, curb appeal is one of the best assets you can have when drawing prospective buyers into your home. Whatever plants you choose, remember to select those that are cold-hardy and those that will thrive in “Zones 7 or 8″ (this information will be included on the tags attached to any plants you purchase).
Bearing these things in mind, here’s a list of plants that will perk up your landscape that are hardy enough to withstand the cold snaps that we often experience here in Maryland!
- Pansies. Exceptionally hardy, these cheerful flowers will add an instant blaze of color to your landscape. Available in varying colors from white to dark purple.
- Ranunculus. These unusual flowers are available in a range of vivid colors from bright yellow, to hot pink or deep purple. Excellent for containers!
- Daffodils. Plant a sea of show-stopping blooms near entryways. These cheerful flowers are low-maintenance and are available in countless varieties.
- Tulips. Add some containers of forced tulip bulbs around your front door to make a great first impression!
Remember to fluff up the mulch in your flower beds, and if you’ve made improvements to your yard, be sure to point them out! Good luck and happy gardening!
